Asia-Link Symposium: EU-China Cooperation in Higher Education
On Friday 19th October 2007 a Symposium focusing on EU-China higher education policy and cooperation issues will be held in Beijing, China. The event aims to provide a platform for high-level dialogue between government officials, senior managers, policy makers and representatives from higher education institutions and academic networks from China and Europe.
The Symposium is a joint event of the European Commission and the Chinese Ministry of Education and will be implemented by a consortium composed of four European agencies: CampusFrance, DAAD, Nuffic and British Council, and by the China Scholarship Council.

Life Sciences Partnering China & Europe (London)

CO-REACH is glad to announce the second European Forum of the Life Sciences Partnering China & Europe initiative on Wednesday 11 October 2006 in London (Central Hall Westminster).
The initiative aims to promote partnership, joint ventures and collaboration between the Chinese life science industry and emerging Biotech SMEs and development agencies from Europe.
In one day event, the 2nd European Forum of the Life Sciences Partnering China & Europe Programme will bring together senior executives from the pharmaceutical, biotech, medical and industrial bio-technology sectors as well as their advisors to learn more about both the strategic and pragmatic opportunities and challenges working in and with China.
In various discussion sessions the aim of the event is to inform the audience about current market activities in China, as well as trends and challenges for potential cooperation and business partnering. In addition networking will be facilitated through roundtable discussions in the afternoon.
Participation in this event is FREE of charge, but please note that online registration is mandatory.

Life Sciences Partnering China & Europe programme is a European Commission initiative aiming to promote partnership, joint ventures and collaboration between emerging European Biotech SMEs and their development agencies promoting the European biotech industry and the Chinese life science industry.
The objectives are to:
- Inform, educate and facilitate European SMEs to develop partnering and collaborations with Chinese life sciences organisations
- Provide regional, national and European agencies dealing with the promotion and development of European biotech SME's, with unique and practical access to promising partners in the Chinese life sciences market
- Promote and disseminate the distinctive competencies and innovations of the European Biotech to key stakeholders in the now sizeable Chinese Life Sciences market
The Bio-Partnering China & Europe project comprises of:
- 2 Fora in Europe: 9 May 2006 in Munich and during Bio Partnering Europe 8-10 October 2006 in London
- 2 Partnering events in China (beginning of September 2006 in Beijing and spring 2007 in Shanghai)

The International Politics of EU-China relations Conference

The British Academy and Chinese Academy of Social Science are pleased to sponsor an international conference to be held at the British Academy in London on April 20-21, 2006 on the International Politics of EU-China Relations. The conference will be organised by the Institute of European Studies at CASS and the Centre for Contemporary Chinese Studies at the University of Durham.
The Conference will include a special session (invitation only) on CO-REACH, introducing the project, encouraging debate on mechanisms for supporting collaborative research between Europe and China, and on key research areas in the humanities and social sciences of concern to European and Chinese scholars.

VCWI Netherlands-China Business Forum
The VCWI (De Vereniging van Chinese Wetenschappers en Ingenieurs in Nederland) is organizing on 12 October 2005 her series business forum 2005 at the High Tech Campus Eindhoven. VCWI is a non-profit association to promote cooperations between the Netherlands and China. VCWI members are highly educated people working and living in the Netherlands with Chinese origins.
The theme topic of this business forum is: Impacts of Technology on Netherlands-China Business Development. The objective is to discuss technology impacts on Netherlands-China business development such as R&D strategy, intellectual properties; production licensing, (out)-sourcing and technology transfer matters. Furthermore this forum offers a business and human resources platform and network for companies, institutes and VCWI members.
The target participants are companies and technical institutes in the Netherlands who have been doing and/or intend to develop business in China.
