SciTech event 12 November

On 12 November 2009 a SciTech event will take place in Brussels. This event is organised by PSCA International from the UK. This event aims at bringing together key actors from the European Commission, research organisations, research institutes and a wide range of stake-holders from industry from all EU member states and associated countries to exchange views on a number of key questions related to building a European Science Base. The SciTech event will focus on the following key questions:
- What are the challenges facing science, engineering and technology across Europe?
- How do we create a cohesive, collaborative framework for successful European science innovations?
- How can the European knowledge economy reach its full potential and increase the impact of its science base?
- With new economic and technological developments emerging in a highly competitive, globalised world, what can be done to maintain and strengthen a leading role in science?
- How do we create an environment where the discovery of new medicines and innovative health solutions can reach their commercial potential and bioscience research can flourish?
During this event a series of Masterclasses will run throughout the day. These master classes will be organised in 4 parallel streams:
- Health: Considering the latest technology, innovations and market led research in the health sector.
- Research and Investment: Implementing collaborative research networks and successful knowledge transfers. Highlighting excellence
- Future Technologies: Supporting businesses to innovate and developing world class resources for successful science, engineering and technology projects
- Environment and Energy: The vital role of science and technology in providing long term renewable energy solutions in the fight against climate change
CO-REACH will be presented in stream 3 - Future Technologies. Anouk Tso has been invited to give a master class on International Research Collaboration with Third Countries, focusing on China.
